FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long is the trip?
The distance on the river is 5 miles, and lasts an average of 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
What should I bring with me?
Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, shorts or bathing suit, water shoes or sandals with straps or shoes you don't mind getting wet. You will get thirsty on the river, so you can purchase drinks at our outpost or bring your own. If you need to wear prescription glasses, be sure to have some form of eyeglass retainer (strap). Small coolers are permitted, but remember that your boat rental is for the trip, not the day. NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the river.
Do we have to wear a flotation vest?
Yes, they are to remain on for the entire trip.
Do we get instructions before the trip?
Yes, all patrons are required to go through our safety talk... even the regulars who come year after year. They are not too long and are provided for your safety.
What about car keys?
Never take your keys down the river. Lock all valuables in your car and leave the keys with us. We
have a key rack behind our counter and your car will be kept secure while you're on the river. Locksmiths charge a fortune to open your car and make a duplicate for you.
Can the kids go?
Yes, but they must weigh a minimum of 40 pounds.
What if a thunderstorm comes while we're on the river?
Stay on the river and keep going. Never get out and sit under a tree. You are far safer on the water.
Is the water cold?
Although the Tuckaseegee is one of the warmer rivers in the mountains, on first contact the word
"cold" has been mentioned, but you soon adjust.
UNUSUAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do we take out where we put in?

Downstream - if you can paddle up the river we would like for you to work for us.
Are there alligators in this river?
Nope.
Why are the trees so much taller the further away from the river you get?
There's a mountain under there.
If we don't come back, will you come find us?
Yes, the boats cost a lot of money.
What if we miss the take-out point?
We will swim after you.
Are we going to get wet?
We plan on it.
Are we attached to a cable that pulls us down the river?
Once again with the theme park thing...that's why we give you paddles.
